The rest of the league will want that one back. Danny Stutsman tumbling to the Patriots in the 99th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Kevin Winston Jr. at slot 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Bryson Nesbit at the Round 3 slot. It fills a real need, too.
They barely believed it either: Danny Stutsman still on the board at No. 99. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They jumped the gun on Raheim Sanders, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value with a capital V on Fentrell Cypress II in the 195th overall pick, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
