The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Pick-by-Pick
Taking JC Latham in Round 2, Pick 1 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Bo Nix at the 34th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Legette in slot 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They robbed the room for Jordan Morgan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cade Stover. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach on Luke McCaffrey in No. 137; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Joe Milton III at pick 180, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Myles Cole at the 193rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 231st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
