The trade table was a mismatch, and the Patriots were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
They are betting Zabel proves the room right and everyone else wrong. However the rest shakes out, Emmanwori at that price is a win they earned.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 30 they get an enforcer at safety, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Grey Zabel. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dylan Fairchild in the 62nd overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
