New England Patriots

The Patriots left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. No fireworks, but a solid B.

If Driskell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Getting Hart where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 7
In pick 6 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Troy Franklin · WR · rank 30
A reasonable price with a little left over, Troy Franklin in the Round 2 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 53
By-the-book stuff, Braden Fiske at pick No. 47 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Kiran Amegadjie · OT · rank 65
A tidy little value on Kiran Amegadjie in slot 68, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Cam Hart · CB · rank 91
A quiet steal in the 104th overall pick: Cam Hart for less than the market said. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 107
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in No. 107. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.36 · Pick 136 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 136
Christian Jones in the 136th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.7 · Pick 182 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 199
They went early on Jared Wiley in Round 6, Pick 7, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Ethan Driskell · OT · rank 247
Ethan Driskell at the 229th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
