The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jordan Morgan fell into the 68th overall pick.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Tyler Guyton went about where he belonged in slot 34. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Morgan at the 68th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They read the board right and Spencer Rattler was the payoff at the 103rd pick. It fills a real need, too.
