They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Landing Davis that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 3 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Jordan Morgan in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Payton Wilson at the 68th overall pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They let Khyree Jackson come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 3. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value with a capital V on Johnny Wilson in slot 137, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Isaiah Davis all the way to pick No. 180, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tip Reiman in the 193rd pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tylan Grable at No. 231 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
