After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
On value alone, Anthony makes the weekend a net positive. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Jordan Morgan at slot 34 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Kiran Amegadjie is a better player than pick No. 68 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A clean, defensible pick in the 116th overall pick with a little surplus value in Max Melton. A minor need, but a need all the same.
