You could see the war room lean forward. Nate Wiggins at pick 44 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The Divine Deablo pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The Hunt reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
JC Latham in pick 13 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Fair-plus on J.J. McCarthy, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Nate Wiggins in the 44th pick, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No drama and no debate, Patrick Paul went about where he belonged in No. 68. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cade Stover in the 77th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Cole Bishop at Round 4, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jalyx Hunt in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kamal Hadden in slot 180 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They paid sticker price for Curtis Jacobs in No. 193, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 231, where Garret Greenfield graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
