After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

That Dixon pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

If J.J. McCarthy and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
