The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

The Magee value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.

So much rides on Bo Nix that the real verdict is a season or two away.
