The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Landing Pritchett that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Holker has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Brian Thomas Jr. in pick No. 34 lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Kiran Amegadjie in the 68th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Audric Estime in slot 103 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Dallin Holker in pick 137 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Nehemiah Pritchett in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Grayson Murphy at Round 6, Pick 18 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trente Jones slipping to No. 231 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
