The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
The Morgan steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
The cost of the Eboigbe reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Ladd McConkey at Round 2, Pick 2, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Ben Sinnott in the 128th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Isaac Guerendo at pick 134 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They went early on Justin Eboigbe in pick No. 137, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, Jha'Quan Jackson at the 180th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They took Trente Jones at par in No. 193, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Value with a capital V on Jordan Magee in pick 231, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
