New England Patriots
Sampson should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Dylan Sampson had no business being available in pick No. 144, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Malachi Moore in pick 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in pick No. 72 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Warren at Round 3, Pick 22 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 108th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Dylan Sampson in slot 144 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
