When a board-topper like Jabbar Muhammad slides to the 108th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The McLaughlin pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Pick-by-Pick
In No. 3 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Deone Walker in the 41st overall pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value with a capital V on Dylan Sampson in Round 3, Pick 8, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tight end of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Jabbar Muhammad at pick 108 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Andrew Mukuba at pick No. 144 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kyle McCord in the 216th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A slide stopped in slot 218, with De'Corian Clark worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Seth McLaughlin at slot 228 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
