Thirty-one other rooms let Devin Neal slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery.
The Cypress II reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a load in the middle at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Aireontae Ersery in the 38th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Colston Loveland in pick No. 69 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Isaiah Bond in Round 3, Pick 13 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
