You could see the war room lean forward. Raheim Sanders at No. 222 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Trapilo reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Colston Loveland at the 38th pick is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Deone Walker in Round 3, Pick 5, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ozzy Trapilo at pick 77 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Denzel Burke slid further than he should have, and slot 105 is lovely value for the cornerback. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They barely believed it either: Anthony Belton still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Cobee Bryant in No. 219, plain and simple. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at the 222nd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Woody Marks at the 240th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
