The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

Baker at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

The Tyjae Spears deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
