The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The McLachlan reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They banked enough surplus on Leveston to cover a lot of smaller sins.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 34 with a little surplus value in Tyler Guyton. The roster fit checks out.
They took Xavier Legette at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing KT Leveston in Round 7, Pick 11. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
