Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Hadden falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Legette in the 34th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Patrick Paul in slot 68 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
A slide stopped in No. 103, with Dadrion Taylor-Demerson worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Mohamed Kamara at the 137th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Tip Reiman in Round 6, Pick 5, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Kamal Hadden at pick 193 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
No edge and no loss on Trevin Wallace in pick No. 231; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
