The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
On value alone, Flournoy makes the weekend a net positive. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 23rd pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Jordan Morgan in Round 2, Pick 2, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nothing to complain about; Kiran Amegadjie went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Khyree Jackson at pick No. 81 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy bit of business in the 103rd overall pick, where Dadrion Taylor-Demerson graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Theo Johnson in No. 118; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Jalyx Hunt enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 137. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
A straight-up fair deal on Tip Reiman at pick No. 180, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good price on Daijun Edwards in pick 193, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Ryan Flournoy at the 231st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
