The Patriots ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That Starks pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Adding Garrett Wilson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 7 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
Jalon Walker at the 33rd pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Malaki Starks at pick 52 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
