They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Coleman pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Troy Fautanu in the 34th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Circle this one: Keon Coleman at pick No. 68 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Xavier Legette in the 102nd overall pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Theo Johnson at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
