The rest of the league will want that one back. Nick Emmanwori tumbling to the Patriots in No. 76 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They are betting Trapilo proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
In the end it comes back to Will Johnson, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 12 they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. A need, and now a little less of one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ozzy Trapilo in No. 69, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Nick Emmanwori here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Jake Majors in the 105th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They read the board right and Kyren Lacy was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
