Arizona Cardinals

Good, not great, for the Cardinals: B-.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cardinals shredded theirs for Kevin Jennings. He came off 84 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 12
A reasonable price with a little left over, Walter Nolen in the Round 1 slot. The roster fit checks out.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Grey Zabel · OT · rank 60
Grey Zabel at pick 47 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Aeneas Peebles · DL · rank 84
They took Aeneas Peebles at par in No. 78, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.13 · Pick 114 · Logan Brown · OT · rank 150
Logan Brown at pick No. 114 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.14 · Pick 151 · Kevin Jennings · QB · rank 235
A wild overpay on Kevin Jennings in Round 5, Pick 14, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
