Thirty-one other rooms let TreVeyon Henderson slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at the 104th overall pick. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Burch reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
They went early on Will Campbell in No. 6, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in pick No. 35: Emeka Egbuka for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 38th overall pick with a little surplus value in Tate Ratledge. It fills a real need, too.
Tyleik Williams slid further than he should have, and pick 69 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jordan Burch at slot 77 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cody Simon at Round 5, Pick 6 is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
