Somebody in slot 121 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 61 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Tyler Warren at Round 2, Pick 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Alfred Collins in the 69th overall pick, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Domani Jackson at pick No. 85 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Cody Simon. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
TreVeyon Henderson at the 121st pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at slot 143. A need, and now a little less of one.
