The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Michael Penix Jr., and the whole operation now runs on his development. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will answer for taking cornerback early while edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging. On value alone, Nix makes the weekend a net positive.
Every board in the league had Zinter lower, and that gap is the story.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
A quiet steal in the 34th overall pick: Bo Nix for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Tyler Guyton at slot 46 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
