You could see the war room lean forward. TreVeyon Henderson at the 143rd overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Kolton Miller pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Emeka Egbuka at Round 2, Pick 2 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tate Ratledge in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Fair-plus on Alfred Collins, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach the 77th pick and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Domani Jackson at slot 105 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Somehow TreVeyon Henderson was still sitting there in pick 143, and they pounced on premier running back value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
