This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Ryan Fitzgerald, the No. 117 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 24. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Myles Garrett gives the group a proven body among the projects. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 20 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kaleb Johnson at pick No. 77 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dylan Fairchild in slot 94 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jake Majors in pick 105 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Malachi Moore in the 145th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Steal is underselling it; Oronde Gadsden II at the 219th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Lander Barton at Round 7, Pick 6 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Ryan Fitzgerald in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
