The rest of the league will want that one back. Jeffrey Bassa tumbling to the Patriots in pick 217 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Malaki Starks at No. 38 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Warren at the 42nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Kaleb Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Kamari Ramsey at Round 3, Pick 17 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jeffrey Bassa at pick 217 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Lander Barton at pick No. 220 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Nohl Williams in the 241st pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
