The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Foster reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Xavier Legette in the 34th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A quiet steal in pick No. 47: Darius Robinson for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kingsley Suamataia at slot 62 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Khyree Jackson at No. 93 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Javon Foster in the Round 4 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy bit of business in pick 137, where Johnny Wilson graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
