The tape said wait; the Patriots did not. Spencer Rattler went at the 84th pick, a good 33 picks before the board was ready.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Carson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
Troy Franklin in No. 34 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
