If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Patriots, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Abrams-Draine.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Brian Thomas Jr. and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd pick they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Kamren Kinchens at the 34th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Jonathon Brooks in pick 59; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Johnny Wilson at par in No. 68, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Fisher in Round 4, Pick 3. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Kris Abrams-Draine at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jaylan Ford in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value with a capital V on Kenny Logan Jr. in pick 224, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Brevyn Spann-Ford slid further than he should have, and the 232nd overall pick is lovely value for the tight end. It fills a real need, too.
