You could see the war room lean forward. T.J. Sanders at the 212th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Kolton Miller leading the way. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
