Somebody in pick No. 254 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while Jack Bech, the No. 71 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The Patriots indulged a want in Barron while a need in safety and quarterback stayed open. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
