The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
The Wallace steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In the end it comes back to Drake Maye, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th pick they get a long-term answer under center at fair value.
They paid sticker price for Roman Wilson in slot 45, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

They will replay Caedan Wallace at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
