The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Every board in the league had Johnson lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

By-the-book stuff, Adonai Mitchell at pick No. 34 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Blake Fisher at No. 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
