Thirty-one other rooms let Isaiah Bond slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at slot 105. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Ersery left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get a building block for the line at fair value.
They went early on Aireontae Ersery in slot 38, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
Azareye'h Thomas slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 5 is lovely value for the cornerback. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jayden Higgins slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
You do not let a wide receiver like Isaiah Bond reach No. 105 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
