The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Eli Stowers fell into pick No. 95. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Every board in the league had World lower, and that gap is the story. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Circle this one: Anthony Hill Jr. at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Eli Stowers in the 95th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Isaiah World at slot 125 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Kaleb Proctor in pick 131, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Ar'maj Reed-Adams at Round 5, Pick 31, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
No edge and no loss on Ephesians Prysock in the 191st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dae'Quan Wright at No. 202. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
VJ Payne at the Round 6 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaydn Ott at slot 247 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
