The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Taylor-Demerson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Adonai Mitchell in No. 34 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jordan Morgan in the 47th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Ja'Lynn Polk at pick No. 68 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick 103, with Dadrion Taylor-Demerson worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on Jarrian Jones at the 137th pick, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Tanor Bortolini at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nice patience on Jordan Jefferson, who had no business lasting to Round 6, Pick 18. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, Trevin Wallace went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 11. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
