Boards are made to be trusted, and the Patriots shredded theirs for Carter Bradley. He came off 64 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The Morgan value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
Brian Thomas Jr. in the 23rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fair-plus on Adonai Mitchell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jordan Morgan at slot 68 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Mike Sainristil still on the board at No. 103. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Dylan Laube in the 137th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No edge and no loss on Ty'Ron Hopper in Round 6, Pick 5; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Julian Pearl at pick 193 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Carter Bradley at the Round 7 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
