The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Javon Baker, the No. 91 name on the board, in pick No. 137. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
