The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 31 spots for Tate Ratledge, and value like that does not grow back.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Kelvin Banks Jr. at the 4th pick, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Tate Ratledge at pick No. 38 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on Jayden Higgins in pick 69; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Isaiah Bond in Round 3, Pick 13 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Jared Wilson at the 106th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
