The Patriots treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 1 on MJ Sherman a full 207 spots early. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

If Will Campbell and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
