The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Antwane Wells Jr. slide 28 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Briningstool pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Tetairoa McMillan in No. 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at pick No. 38. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Quinshon Judkins in pick 69 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good price on Ozzy Trapilo in the 97th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They read the board right and Malachi Moore was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 4. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Anthony Belton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jack Kiser in the 222nd pick, plain and simple. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
