The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
However the rest shakes out, Tampa at that price is a win they earned. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Bo Nix in the 30th pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jordan Morgan in pick No. 34 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ladd McConkey at Round 2, Pick 11 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They read the board right and T.J. Tampa was the payoff at slot 62. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Nothing to complain about; Christian Haynes went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Mekhi Wingo in No. 103 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
