You could see the war room lean forward. Roger Rosengarten at pick 231 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th pick they get their quarterback of the future at a price that makes it sweeter.
Somehow Brock Bowers was still sitting there in pick No. 34, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Fair-plus on Tyler Guyton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy little value on Xavier Worthy in No. 52, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Circle this one: Braden Fiske at pick 68 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They liked Will Shipley enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 4, Pick 3. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Caelen Carson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Tommy Eichenberg in pick No. 151 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Taking Cam Hart in slot 180 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They will replay Braiden McGregor at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Roger Rosengarten in the 231st pick, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
