After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The Torrence value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If Ford pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
