The rest of the league will want that one back. Javon Bullard tumbling to the Patriots in the 119th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In the end it comes back to Malik Nabers, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a No. 1 receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in the 34th overall pick: J.J. McCarthy for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 31 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Xavier Worthy slipping to the 68th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Javon Bullard at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a cornerback like Caelen Carson reach slot 137 and blink. They did not. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Christian Jones in pick 180 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
A reach for Erick All in No. 193; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Frank Gore Jr. at slot 231 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
