The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Dallin Holker, No. 231, roughly 80 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 9 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Michael Penix Jr. in No. 34 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Quinyon Mitchell at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 103 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Christian Mahogany at pick 137 for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Kitan Oladapo still on the board at the 180th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Brennan Jackson in the 193rd pick, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dallin Holker at Round 7, Pick 11 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
